LATAM-EU Sustainable Food Systems Academy

The project focuses on achieving a more sustainable food industry value chain by incorporating technological, digital, and nature-based solutions and an equity approach along the food chain. All of these are aimed at raising awareness of green skills and enabling the development of green skills in sustainable food systems measures, thereby improving the employability and professional development of all those involved.

The project has five objectives: co-design tools and share best practices, deliver capacity-building training, support the implementation of institutional strategies, reinforce the link between VET (Vocational Education and Training) providers and food industry partners, and disseminate the methodologies, case studies, toolkits, and results. The project aims to produce five toolkits, facilitate 16 peer-to-peer mentoring sessions, train 700 students, provide 50 microcredentials, train 100 teachers and staff, produce three case studies, and implement eight joint projects between participant organisations and food system stakeholders. In-person gatherings include city-based coaching groups, a remote midterm conference, and a week's immersion in Valencia's local food system.
